Christian Dior it is! 😉 I mean you guys know how addicted I am to Dior (for 4 years, I had a skin spa giveaway and Dior gifts for my loyal followers) but for some reason last 2018, I stopped “hoarding” their products. Karma is something cause look at me now..

Last year, I totally forgot about Dior because I got addicted to Sephora and Jeffree Star. Early this year, I saw Dior while shopping and bought this.

It started with a harmless question asking for my perfect shade from ALL MY TOP 5 FAVORITE brands. So one day Denilyn (from Dior Rustan’s Shangri-la) gave me a sample of a certain foundation (TBD soon) and their skincare (TBD very soon 🙈).

Surprisingly, I love EVERYTHING so much that I had to check ALL THEIR PRODUCTS with the urgency to buy ASAP. As in my obsession from Estee Lauder easily went to Dior. That’s how passionate I am 🙈🙈🙈
Good thing I came to my senses and did my best to really be calm and wait. Until I saw Heart E and Lovi Poe post about THE Diormania limited edition cushion. I mean c’mon tons of influencers posted about this already and I don’t care at all.. but once Heart posts about it.. I must have it. That’s the agenda! 😉
Disclaimer : For 4 years, Dior is my only foundation and technically, I somewhat hate their formula because it oxidizes A LOT leaving me with a shade 2x darker than what I’m supposed to have. Check reviews everywhere – Dior really tends to oxidize hour after hour. This is why for so many years, I don’t know I have a cool undertone and I looked so orange / warm

Oxidation is a chemical reaction when a foundation turns a shade or two darker (yellow to orange) once exposed in the air. Just like how fruits turn brown or have discoloration when exposed to oxygen.

They also say that silicone-based primer stops your foundation from oxidizing. But no! I’ve tried different brands already – same orange face. And yes, whether my foundation is new or old, it still oxidizes.
Of course I gave them the benefit of the doubt and stayed for years despite the orange face.. until I met Estee Lauder advisor Kim and helped me correct it.
I found out I have a cool undertone by doing this test. Also, check the veins on your wrists – if you have purple and blue veins, chances are you have cool undertone. If you have green and blue veins, you have neutral undertone. If you have all-green veins, you have a warm undertone.

It’s accurate. After months of checking my correct undertone, I finally found my correct foundation shade – 1C for Nars and Dior (lighter shade so I can easily mix it with my contour and blush) but for Estee Lauder, my shade is 2C because their Double Wear foundation doesn’t move nor oxidize despite blending it with your contour and blush.
Having been said that, it is expected that Dior should be my last option when it comes to foundation options.. especially when I found out that they only have 1 cool undertone shade but tons of neutral shades.
I wore shade Neutral 2 for years, making me a 4 after oxidation. Meaning, even if I use a 0 or 1 for a neutral shade, 3 is still not a good fit. Thus, it is still best to get the perfect cool undertone foundation shade instead! Though it is risky, for Heart E I’ll buy anything. 🤗

This is the 2nd lightest shade for Dior Forever Perfect Cushion Neutral. I had the chance to reserve a 0N (0 Neutral) but I had doubts and didn’t purchase it. Believe me, having this cushion is my last desire because I am so afraid to look orange again knowing they don’t have a cool undertone shade for Diormania. After cancelling the first opportunity to have it, we checked Chanel, Estee Lauder, Nars, Fenty and Guerlain.. but my husband reluctantly said, “I really want that Diormania for you..” That led me to check with Dior again and finally got this but in 1N. As per their team, this was their last batch of delivery. So yaaaay me! 🙌
This limited edition is specially developed to match Asian skin tones to bring out the natural glow.

I already saw different Dior cushions years ago and I wasn’t really impressed to the idea that I should use a sponge. I hate to use a sponge – I’m so OC that I don’t like it when things get dirty.. plus for me it’s a big waste of product! I already have my own powder and a foundation with awesome coverage, I don’t need more. With a skin like mine before, the cushion’s formula is way too light and sheer for it to hide my flaws; but I’m all wrong!

Bear with me because the formula and finish are so hard to explain in layman’s term.
Cushion foundations are great if you like the finish of liquid products but want to touch up during the middle of the day. It is usually formulated as dewy and with light coverage but Dior has a different take.

It has a luminous matte finish with watery feeling upon application. I tried to get the product using my clean hands and the first thing I see and feel is water. Whenever I squeeze in the cushion, I see enough product to use then pat it all over my face to spread the foundation. No swiping, just dab dab dab for the right coverage.
I love the elegant smell it has that is not overpowering and really addicting. It has a unique fresh texture that leaves your skin hydrated with skincare benefits from pansy and rose extract.

Rose extracts help in cleansing the skin and preventing blemishes. It has anti-inflammatory properties that minimize redness and soothe irritation. It is ideal for all skin types – acneic, dry, mature or even sensitive skin. This cushion proved its worth to me when I used it last week. I applied it to my dry, red, and itchy skin caused by too much SPF. It healed and calmed my skin – oh if I can only use this EVERYDAY, I would! 🥺😳
Pansy extracts have natural anti-oxidants and anti-inflammatory properties. I’m telling you my acne reduced to 40%. It is used for healing, cleansing and soothing the skin – ahhhh again what’s not to like? 🙈

Technically, I’m not really into light-coverage foundation. I don’t want my flaws to be seen – I’d rather have them covered;

but I changed my mind for this cushion. It has light coverage with watery texture but turns into matte and medium coverage once it sets. This cushion taught me to love myself more and be more confident in showing my skin.

If I’ll be really honest though, I won’t and can’t stand to see a dirty and used sponge. That’s how OC I am! I tried to get some products and apply the foundation using my fingers – it worked better for me. It is buildable but it dries very fast .. so be quick in blending it while dabbing (not swiping).
On the other hand, be very mindful in cleaning the sponge. You can’t easily wash it with water and soap. I use oil-based makeup remover to clean it well. Also, I don’t see the use of the sponge (at least for me) because it can’t really blend the blush and bronzer well. It easily absorbs the product – wasting a lot actually.
Formula is very lightweight – you’ll forget you have makeup on your face. It is long-wearing (6 hours before you see flaws and pores again) if you use it for touch-ups and not as foundation.

With setting powder, it can last up to 8 hours before you see imperfection and pores. It is better to wear it with setting powder for longevity and oil control. I love the cushion’s layering technology that prevents caking, smearing and fading – wrinkles and fine lines are hidden, leaving you with flawless and dewy look.
The shade remains the same and NEVER oxidized. Swear. 🙋♀️ Also, my complexion looks radiant and even, skin appears plumped and its texture refined.

To achieve a long-lasting wear and hydration, apply a matte/smooth primer (not illuminating) then apply the cushion with a dabbing motion instead of swiping the sponge. Afterwards, add the setting powder for a more flawless finish.

It covers the pores really well without making it look too dry or wet. It makes the glass skin look so easy to achieve. What could go wrong if the foundation will come from a cushion and you can easily control how much product to put and how to evenly apply it.

Dior Forever Perfect Cushion also has beautifying pigments that adjust to the skintone for an enhanced complexion. It’s like a watery formula that glides softly on the skin to make a matte radiant finish that is very hydrating and feels so light on the skin. I thought I can’t replace my powder with this cushion – but I was wrong! It can be a replacement to powders used for touch-ups (not setting) to refresh the skin any time of the day.
I am so allergic to SPF (confirmed and proven) but I can handle up to 35 ONLY. This cushion has SPF 35 with high UVA-UVB protection – just enough to avoid having a makeup flashback.
Makeup flashback is the white cast that appears to your skin in photos after using certain products (high SPF or silica). It is a makeup disaster where the flash of a camera picks up light-reflecting particles from your makeup leaving your skin patchy and chalky. The flash of the camera picks up the SPF or silica from your makeup or skincare. You can test this by taking a picture with flash on or by going to a dark place and take photos with flash. 📷

Originating in Korea, cushions are now used all over the world. This technique enhances and protects the skin wherever you are. Dior Forever Perfect Cushion is an old cushion line. It is refillable (amazing! 🥳🎊🎉) and for refills they have a cool undertone shade available here in the Philippines; this time around they changed the packaging to a coutoure case inspired by Diormania – an iconic monogram pattern.
I said what I have to say about this excellent cushion. Though I know some brands like YSL and Bobbi Brown also offer a good formula.. just remember to try and see for yourself first before purchasing or ask help from :
Denilyn’s team at Dior Shangrila by calling them at 09273290690. For more product options, contact Dior Podium and look for Liezel at 09770313357.

Wow. I’ve almost tried using cushion once Ms. Japs. Kaya lang po was thinking baka ndi nya macover mga skin imperfections ko. Kaya sabi ko naku, pang mga Koreana skin lang ata ang cushions, so I stuck with foundation. 😅 Thanks po sa info Ms. Japs. I love the review. ❤️
