Makeup Looks using MAC, Nars, Kat Von D, and Fenty Beauty

You guys know I loooove makeup and so the brands I’ll feature today are beauty staples from known brands. Is it a yay or nay?

True to its name, this Nars foundation leaves your skin naturally radiant / luminous without oxidizing. It is unbelievably lightweight with buildable and full coverage. It is fade resistant meaning it doesn’t fade nor transfer easily depending on your setting powder/spray and primer. If I’ll compare it with other brands, Nars is definitely better when it comes to longevity – can last up to 8 hours (paired with a Nars setting powder).

It is infused with Raspberry, Apple and Watermelon extracts to improve skin texture over time. It looks natural, doesn’t cake nor feel heavy. The best part is they have tons of shades for different undertones. Prolly one of the best foundations I have ever tried!

It reached my expectations. I mean Retro Matte is already 100% okay but its metallic version is beyond success!

It is a metallic dark gray lipstick with a purple undertone over a matte finish. It has a quick-dry formula and a foiled-look once it sets. Be extra careful though, you cannot really build and add more layers for it can cause flaking. With proper application (just a few strokes), it applies evenly and can last for 8 to 10 hours.

I got so frustrated to Fenty because of this thing 😩😩😩 The people who blogged about this and said that this is blinding are lying. 😬 I have to swipe the product 3x and add a Kat Von D highlighter to achieve this glow. I mean..

It claims to be a long-wear and iridescent highlighter stick but it is so not. 😪 Though I must say it really has a cream to powder formula that allows me to layer more products because of its weightless finish. Just that. Sayang pera, real talk. 🤑

Please compare this to what my other highlighter sticks can do.

Now on to the newly formulated Nars eyeliner.

I love their old formula way better than this new one. The old one is retractable and not cakey. This new one is so heavy on the eyes and not long wearing at all. Sigh. Yes it is still okay but I have used them at their best so this is frustrating.

How dare you create an awesome mascara that is not waterproof?! I mean — it is so nice.. I forgot my eyes tear like crazy to any eye product that is not waterproof.

At first, it was so easy to apply and wear. I love my long lashes and how it made my eyes look dashing. I love its Fluff Brush that allows me to easily coat each lash for full coverage.

Powered by plant-based fats, this long-wear mascara has a smooth texture (easy to glide) for an eye-opening effect without smudging for hours. It’s not hard to remove, it doesn’t feel heavy either. What’s frustrating though is that it easily dries out, it tends to flake and my eyes react to it badly, my eye makeup mixed with a cakey eyeliner and eyeshadow got ruined because of its formula. It looks good but it feels bad. 😩

Now what can you say about the lipstick?

Nars has a lot of underrated products. Super underrated that you actually have no idea how my lips dance disco with this on. Please look closely on my lips.

The pigment is over the top. It’s like a satin metallic finish with glitters on it – as if I have sugar scrubs on my lips. The bullet is limited with an exclusive Studio-54 themed case. It can last for up to 12 hours.

When I say Nars lip products are underrated here’s one more reason why..

What else can I say about this bad ass vivid blue red shade? A powerful matte with a lightweight texture (more like an ink). It reminds me of Fenty Lip Paint but it only feels heavier and more drying than Nars’ formula.

It dries down fast to lock in formula for a smudge-resistant, carefree wear. The doe-foot applicator provides effortless precision in one-swipe making it fool proof and easy to use. Though it feels light on the lips, it is so hard to remove this lipstick that can actually last up to 15 hours after eating (no oil), drinking and (believe me or not) kissing (yes I tried 😉). Such a perfect lip product for someone who tends to have a long day.

It is a metallic silver eyeliner that looks white when worn. It is very bright and shiny but it is too cakey and heavy on the eyes. Though it’s foiled and creamy, it doesn’t really set well on the eyelids.
