My Lipstick Story

For someone who loves makeups, a lipstick story is inevitable. So without further ado, here I am sharing with you my different looks wearing different lipstick colors/formula and the stories behind them.

There goes the usual red lipstick we all love to wear especially now that it’s almost Chinese New Year. It’s very common for most beauty lovers to wear it but many are still afraid to try it thinking that it looks so fierce and eye-catching. Red is quite scary to wear but to be honest, it’s all about your perspective and confidence to pull off something like this. It looks so sexy on the lips too.

I am not a lipgloss lover anymore but when MAC came up with lightweight and glittery lipgloss, I signed up for 2 colors 😜🤦‍♀️🙈. So nice especially when paired with dark-colored eye makeups and glass-skin look.

I am a fan of this brand.. for years.. and now that I’ve seen it “age” together with MAC, KAT VON D, MAKE UP FOR EVER, SEPHORA, FENTY, DIOR etc I must say, Jeffree Star Cosmetics failed me. It didn’t age with grace.

Dior has its own “hit or miss” story in my makeup stash but this lipstick is one of the best purchases I had from them. It is one of my most pigmented lipsticks with long lasting and lightweight formula. I love it! Just don’t eat or drink for it will look patchy 😓

This is by far the best MAC formula I have ever tried! It is a holographic liquid lipstick packed with iridescent pearls and megawatt colour. I love its refreshing cooling sensation that makes my lips feel fuller. It feels thick on the lips but not heavy. Some formulas have duochrome colors, like the one I’m wearing here.

Heart is still broken after I found out that Kat Von D sold her makeup brand to Kendo. Ugh! I love their formula specifically this lipstick packed with glitters. It is indeed very heavy on the lips and definitely a topping everytime you eat; but when your lips behave, it definitely stays.

Is this amazing or what? Thin on the lips but it has a frosted metallic formula. I love everything about this, especially its smell and how it glides easily on my lips. Bonus too that it doesn’t melt fast.

It may be new to everyone but as a local brand, this lipstick formula is awesome. It smells nice, feels lightweight and very pigmented. It comes in a nice packaging too. You can also overdraw to make your lips look fuller. 🤫

This collection is so underrated but it is by far one of the best MAC collections I ever had for it has a complete line of lip liners and lipsticks perfect for all skin tones. Look how nice this is on me and it is not drying or patchy either.

I have to admit, my love for Jeffree Star cosmetics faltered because after trying these out again I noticed that they didn’t dry out, the formula is still as effective and long lasting as they were the first day I bought them. The scent/consistency of the products are still good as new. I can’t believe I planned to phase them out of my makeup collection. MAC, I owe you an apology! 🙏

Basically, I wear makeup to change my look and try different products every other time. This blog post proves a lot that makeup changes your look and how you present yourself. On the other hand, it helps you see what brands are good over time and what matters most to you as you age.. hopefully with grace. ☺️
