Hi everyone! Summer here in the Philippines is almost over and it’s starting to rain already. The cold season has began so it’s time to shift to a whole new set of clothes again. Prepare the coats, boots and the maxi dresses. 😣
For now, we still have a few weeks left to enjoy the heat and wear shorter outfits. This is why my OOTD post for today is something cool and comfy.

The upper part of the dress is knitted and that is where the comfort starts. The lower part has the right length to feel breezy. Also, the design and color combination of this dress showed coolness in style.

A 0.17 fl.oz liquid lipstick from MAC. Ever since MAC released the Retro Matte (see here) line, all I did was to chase their nude lipsticks. When I first tried it, I easily noticed how pigmented it is. It easily sets after seconds and I enjoy smelling and tasting vanilla from it. Just like Ofra’s liquid lipstick, its formula dries down to a flat, matte finish that is mostly transfer-proof. MAC Retro Matte offers : a clear cylindrical tube with a bullet lipstick cap, soft applicator that is tear-drop shaped to easily get the right amount of lipstick you just need, an even output on the color, pleasing smell/taste and a longer lasting effect. Whereas Ofra is more forgiving in terms of dryness. Both can easily transfer on food, plates, glasses and utensils but they don’t transfer on the skin and clothes.

It has a mousse-like consistency but needs more streaks to make an even color. It is drying and sometimes make my lips chap. Since I put layers of lipstick on, I have to erase everything again before reapplying. Even with the use of oil or a makeup remover, some parts of the lips still have lipstick on. Once reapplied, the issue is corrected and the lips will look good as new. I used it for a total of 16 hours. At first, it lasted for 10 hours and I only encountered dryness once when I was in a cold coffee shop. The 2nd and last retouch was after my 10th hour. I’ll give MAC Retro Matte a rate of 9/10. 1 point deduction is due to dryness. Here are more colors from this line:
Unfortunately, loud and brighter colors do not look great. Why? It is too bright and dry that even though I already used MAC’s lip primer and Dior’s lip glow, the lips still chap and the lines of the lips are more emphasized in such a way that it looks too dry and ugly already. Then again, let’s try to consider the fact that when I tried other colors, my lips already has the MAC Lady Be Good liquid lipstick for 12 hours.. so it could be the reason why it looked so ugly on me already. But hey! I’ll try it again soon. 😉
Tip : Use Dior’s Lip Glow (see here) a week or days before using MAC Retro Matte to achieve a better effect. They say that using a MAC Lip Primer will help to have a better effect.. but I don’t see it. It is not a lip treatment so it can’t help in moisturizing the lips. It may prepare the lips before using a matte lipstick but unlike Dior’s Lip Glow, MAC’s lip primer is not really a lip treatment that can be used as a longer solution.
Update on my health : I’m better now. I’m done taking steroids. So yipee! God is GOOD! Thanks for dropping by again. Have a great day! God bless you!
