I’m already doing this project for 2 months now. Honestly, I’m already one push away to stop doing this. I’m thinking of what others may think whenever I post my updates and how they see my weakness as something “shallow.”

Lesson Learned : My weight will not define who I am and who I will be in the future.

Well guess what? I don’t care what you think. I’ll still do this anyway.. Together with my girls Beth and Brie, I know that we are all in this together and in gaining or losing, we will stick with our plan. We are in a group called Chubby Girls Get Skinny. Join us in this project of empowering women and strengthening each other daily until we reach our health goals in life. 🤗

So I lost a few pounds 2 weeks ago then gain them ALL back this week. 😅 It’s like I’m up for a “Joke Project.” But seriously, I am in a project to fight against Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) and Hypothyroidism. For this post, let’s do PCOS first.

According to WebMD, PCOS is…

a problem in which a woman’s hormones are out of balance. It can cause problems with your period and make it difficult to get pregnant. PCOS may also cause unwanted changes in the way you look. If it isn’t treated, over time it can lead to serious health problems, such as diabetes and heart disease. Most women with PCOS grow many small cysts on their ovaries. That is why it is called polycystic ovary syndrome. The cysts are not harmful but lead to hormone imbalances.

Symptoms :

  • Acne.
  • Weight gain and trouble losing weight.
  • Extra hair on the face and body. Often women get thicker and darker facial hair and more hair on the chest, belly, and back.
  • Thinning hair on the scalp.
  • Irregular periods. Often women with PCOS have fewer than nine periods a year. Some women have no periods. Others have very heavy bleeding.
  • Fertility problems. Many women who have PCOS have trouble getting pregnant
  • Depression.

If you have these symptoms, go to your OB-Gyn and expect a possible ultrasound, blood tests, etc. Finding out whether you have PCOS or not will help your spouse and the people around you understand your depression and whatever you’re going through today.

Though I have both PCOS, Fibromyalgia, and Hypothyroidism, I don’t want to make these issues my excuse for not losing weight easily. Last week was one of my “busiest week.” I slept for only 3-4 hours a day. I didn’t eat a lot compared to what I eat when I’m not busy.. but I gained weight BIG TIME. 😣 Only to find out about this from WebMD..

“It’s not that if you sleep, you will lose weight, but if you are sleep-deprived, meaning that you are not getting enough minutes of sleep or good quality sleep, your metabolism will not function properly,” explains Michael Breus. Exactly how lack of sleep affects our ability to lose weight has a lot to do with our nightly hormones, explains Breus. The two hormones that are key in this process are ghrelin and leptin. “Ghrelin is the ‘go’ hormone that tells you when to eat, and when you are sleep-deprived, you have more ghrelin,” Breus says. “Leptin is the hormone that tells you to stop eating, and when you are sleep deprived, you have less leptin.”

So that explains everything.. 🤔 As I post this.. I’m still in the “Depression Stage” and gaining weight up until now.. but I know one thing.. I won’t stop trying to lose weight. Instead, I will stop thinking about who possibly cares.

Dior Polka Dots Eyeshadow + MAC To Matte With Love Retro Matte Liquid Lipstick

So here’s another take on Dior’s Bain De Mer using the pink, nude and apricot eyeshadow colors. With Dior’s Rosy Glow, the romantic look complemented each other. Though the 2nd look from the eyeshadows I used are too nude, I expect more pigment and vibrant on the colors; but there’s really none so basically on this look, I want to deduct another point from Dior Bain De Mer eyeshadow palette.

The new liquid lipstick I have from MAC’s Retro Matte Collection is described as a “bright raspberry.” It’s a medium-dark, warm fuchsia pink with a matte finish. Here is my review.

Good :

1. The same extra matte liquid formula that MAC Lady Be Good has.

2. Sturdy and elegant packaging.

3. Long lasting and transfer-proof.

4. Color changes depending on the acidity of the user. It even came to a point that it looks like maroon already.

5. Pigmented.

6. Lasts for 12 hours.

Bad :

1. Drying. Even with the best lip balm and lip primers.

2. Needs more concealer once the lipstick stain spreads all over the face while trying to outline the lips.

3. Put few liquid on the lip brush to avoid clumping and too much dryness.

There you go everyone! I hate it when depression hits me really hard.. I smile this much! 😅 I have an RBF so please try to understand the “snobby poses.” 😆 Kidding aside, this week, please look good and smile even harder. 👍

  2. My best-friend had said she was having irregular periods. We both thought it may be that she is going through pre-menopause (she’s 37), but she said she went to the doctor and discovered there was a cyst on her ovaries. So I think she might have had PCOS. The doctor also said that her ovaries are close together. She has one son, but it looks like she won’t have anymore kids.

    1. what meds are she taking? does she gain weight easily? usually, with PCOS, having a period is painful and being too emotional is already a norm. the Dr will ask her to have a trans-v ultrasound then from there, they will find out. there are times that we have cysts in our ovaries but it’s still different compared to having a POLYCYSTIC OVARIAN.

  3. Beautiful as always! I adore the earring cuff! Totally cute! This journey is very hard but honestly, I love reading your post because you’re always so positive about the outcome of this and that’s exactly what I need. I told Beth that I’m very discouraged at the moment because I can’t seem to stick to eating right and working out consistently but your positivity keeps me on track and encourages me to keep going!
